Your evidence already exists. It is just in eleven different places.
Inspectors rarely doubt that you did the work. They ask you to show it. Smart Care Apps tags every record to the CQC quality statements it evidences, as you work, so on the day you can show the record instead of describing it.
The problem is not the work. It is finding it in November.
The audit you finished in March is evidence. So is the complaint you closed out in June, the safeguarding concern you learned from in August, and the recruitment check you chased in September. All of it counts.
The difficulty is that it lives in different places, filed by whoever happened to do it, and nobody has the afternoon it would take to assemble it by quality statement while an inspector waits. So services describe their evidence rather than showing it, and a good service reads as a vague one.
What this looks like
| Code | Quality statement | Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| S3 | Safeguarding | Evidenced |
| S5 | Safe environments | Evidenced |
| S7 | Infection prevention and control | Thin |
| R4 | Listening to and involving people | Evidenced |
| R7 | Planning for the future | No evidence |
| W5 | Governance, management and sustainability | Evidenced |
Click any statement to see the records behind it. The bands are our own plain indicator of how much evidence you hold. They are not CQC ratings.
How it works
You record as you already do
An audit, a complaint, a safeguarding entry, an action, a survey. Nothing new to fill in and no extra screen to learn.
The record tags itself
A medication audit is evidence for medicines optimisation. A complaint is evidence for listening to people and for freedom to speak up. The system proposes the statements from the record itself.
A manager confirms
Suggestions are a starting point, not a compliance judgement. The registered manager ticks what the entry genuinely evidences, and confirmed items are marked as confirmed.
On the day, print the pack
Every statement with the records behind it, dated, branded, and marked confirmed or suggested so the pack never claims more than it can stand behind.
Why this is different from a compliance module
Other systems offer evidence mapping, and some do it well. The difference is who does the mapping. In most, someone has to sit down and connect evidence to statements, which is another job added to the list that created the problem in the first place.
Here the tagging happens when the record is created. The work you already do becomes the evidence, without a second task. That is the whole point: a compliance tool that adds admin has not solved anything.
What this does not do, plainly
It is not a rating, and it does not judge the quality of your care. It counts and organises the evidence you have recorded. CQC rates services; this helps you show them what you hold.
It will not evidence all 34 statements. Several belong to care planning and daily records, which is a different kind of system. We do not do care planning and do not pretend to. Smart Care Apps sits alongside whatever you use for that.
Smart Care Apps is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the Care Quality Commission.
Try the free version first
The free CQC mock inspection walks you through all 34 statements and gives you a gap list in about six minutes. No sign-up, nothing sent to us. It works from memory, which is exactly the limitation this feature removes, so it is a fair way to see whether the idea is worth anything to you before you talk to us.
